How you can also help:

For people who would like to help the basking shark survey but lack good sea legs there is a further opportunity to get involved with the 'Sighting Scheme'. Reporting sightings of basking sharks (and whales, dolphins and porpoises) off the coast throughout the year is important to our understanding of marine wildlife. Whether you have a good view of the sea from your house or holiday home or you walk regularly along the coast, all records of the wildlife you see can help us learn more about these wonderful animals.

Please take time to fill out our online sighting form when you spot a basking shark, or any other marine species!
